Dr. Skip Tyson

Dr. Tyson graduated from The School of Dentistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1995. He completed his post-doctoral residency training in Pediatric Dentistry at the Medical University of South Carolina Medical Center in Charleston, SC. He is a member of: He is on the professional medical and dental staff at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He is a visiting faculty member at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry as well as the Medical University of South Carolina’s Post Graduate Program in Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Tyson welcomes any questions you may have about treatment, office policies or your child’s dental development. Dr . Tyson resides in Wilmington with his wife Susan and their two children. He enjoys boating, surfing, wind-surfing, and most of all, playing with his children. |
Dr. Stephanie Heaney

Dr. Stephanie Heaney is a 1996 graduate of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. In 2001, Dr. Heaney graduated with distinction from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. In 2004, she completed her pediatric dentistry residency at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Heaney is a member of: Dr. Heaney served as a surface warfare officer in the Navy after graduating from the Naval Academy. She served as the Auxiliaries and Electrical Officer in the Engineering Department aboard the USS Ross (DDG-71), a guided missile destroyer. Dr. Heaney practiced general dentistry in Apex, North Carolina for one year after graduating from dental school and prior to specializing in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Heaney has conducted research in the area of teledentistry in coordination with the radiology and telemedicine departments at Children’s National Medical Center. Dr. Heaney is from Fayetteville, North Carolina. She recently married Aidan Heaney. Dr. Heaney's parents, Dr. and Mrs. William Freccia reside in Fayetteville, N.C., where Dr. Freccia is a practicing endodontist (root canal specialist). She enjoys spending time with her beautiful niece, Josie. |

Beth Marcucilli
| Beth is our Office Administrator and has been with us from the beginning. She is a Certified Dental Assistant and has been in the dental profession for over 17 years. She lives with her husband Anthony, son Kendall, and dogs Lilly and Jeter. She enjoys the Yankees, the beach, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends. |
Dawn Kutz
| Dawn is our Office Receptionist and our office OR Coordinator and has been with us for 8 years. She lives with her husband Kevin, daughter Courtney, and son Cory. She also shares her home with her 2 dogs, Jack and Thor, and cat, Princess. She enjoys picnics with her family and beaching it. |
LaToya Shipman
| LaToya is our Insurance Coordinator. She has been with us for over 1 year. She is from Tar Heel. She enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephew. She also enjoys walks on the beach, strawberry smoothies and rainy days. |
Kelly Griffin
| Kelly is our Case Manager. She has been with us for six months. She recently moved from Orange, VA. She loves spending time with her dog Girlie and any spare time she has, she can be found at the beach. |
Anna Garcia
| Anna is our Scheduling Cooridinator. She recently moved here with her husband Matt from Chicago, IL. Together they live in Hampstead with their cat named Kitty. She loves reading novels and watching funny movies. She enjoys meeting new people and trying new things. |
Megan Courtwright
| Megan is a Certified Dental Assistant and is currently our Clinical Coordinator. She has been with us for over 7 years. Megan is on staff at New Hanover Regional Medical Center where she assists with dental surgeries. She lives with her 2 daughters Madison and Melody, their cat Crissy Diamond and dog Sierra. Megan loves shopping, spending time with her family and friends. Has a passion for yard sales and enjoys arts, crafts, and activities with her girls. |
Kathi Nines
| Kathi is one of our Certified Dental Assistants. She is originally from Wake Forest and relocated here to be with us. She has been with us for over 6 years and in the pediatric dental profession for over 20 years. She is dedicated and volunteers for ministries in her church. She enjoys camping and bike riding. She also spends time with her 2 dogs, Daisy and Star, and her beta fish, "Mr. Right." |
Gina McLamb
| Gina is one of our Certified Dental Assistants and is on staff at New Hanover Regional Medical Center where she assists with dental surgeries. Also, she is our OSHA Coordinator. She loves spending time with her husband, Aaron and kitten Pepper. She enjoys traveling, shopping and playing with her niece, Claudia and nephew, Stephen. |
Heather Alford
| Heather is one of our Certified Dental Assistants and our Lab Technician. She graduated from the Dental Assisting program at Cape Fear Community College. She is very outgoing and enjoys spending time with her friends and family and her new puppy Blazer. In her spare time she enjoys watching football, going to the beach, going to concerts, and visiting family in Durham, NC. |
Kim Roderick
| Kim is one of our Dental Assistants. She has been assisting with us for over 2 years now. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Tommy and their 3 girls, Maisie, Dalyn, and Lena. When not in the office, you can find her at Cheerleading compititions, the beach and camping. |
Liz Matthews
| Liz is one of our Dental Assistants and is also our Education Coordinator. She has been with us for over a year. She lives with her husband Cliff and her one year old daughter, Morgan. She has 2 dogs, Spencer and Nero and cat Butthead. She enjoys spending her free time with her wonderful family and friends. |
Dana Westling
| Dana is one of our Dental Assistants and has been assisting for 4 years. She is currently in the process of becoming a Dental Hygienist. She is married to Michael, a Marine fighting in Iraq. She has a cat named Mo. She is new to the area and is enjoying her time here. She loves animals, outdoor activities, and spending quality time with family and friends. |
Krysten Spinelli
| Krysten is one of our Dental Assistants who recently located from New York City. She has been assisting for over 4 years and LOVES her job. On weekends she enjoys spending time with family & William. She also enjoys going to the beach, shopping and the park. |
Laura Lofthus
| Laura is our Sterilization Technician. She graduated from UNCW in May 2007 with a BA in Chemistry and minor in Spanish. She plans to pursue a career in Dentistry with a specialization in Pediatrics. In her free time, Laura enjoys spending time with her family and friends. |
